Hello

I got some old computers from a friend with programming software for old coin acceptors. I need to oper a dos program called Master Programmer 2, short MP2, by sentinel.

When I open the program it asks for the USER password. I know the password, it's by standard MP2. I type in the password and get the error message: "Please set your PCs time and date"

The help file says that this application message appears when: "the time and date set on the PC is incorrect (or was incorrect the last time you ran MP2), maybe your PCs battery needs replacing (see computer manual). If MP2 still won't run when you have set the time & date correctly run the 'WINSTALL.EXE' program again."

It is true that the battery needed to be replased, but I have no idea what the time was the last time the program was used. I think it's between 1997-1998, but that is a lot of dates. I don't know what the file winstall is or does either.

I hope maybe someone are able to help me. I can send you a copy of the program if you could be so kind to help me with this problem.

My email address is the best way to contact me: ***@outlook.com

Best regards Erik

You might try setting the clock to a date in 1999. That would be after
the 1997-1998 time frame you mentioned ... and, perhaps critically,
before 2000.

Due to "the Y2K bug," the program may not be able to make sense of a
date in 2017 if you set the clock to the current date.

If it works, keep track of the date you used so you are prepared if
you get the "or was incorrect the last time you ran MP2" message
again.

Hello Wally. Yes I have tried to set the time back. I have also looked on the timestamps on the datafiles with no luck so far.

I will share the program here
https://1drv.ms/u/s!AmQpRSgd0vA6abTEMk1GBXy2CG0

It's a password protected zip file. Password is erik

You can open the program in windows 2000 or older. Needs no instalation, can be runned from folder. Set time back to 1997 or something. Enter password MP2.

I have looked into software cracking, but this is a bit next level for me.
